10th August: Dinton Pastures Country Park, Davis St, Hurst, Wokingham. A friendly series of 5k/10k events, now in its 11th year, welcoming runners of ALL abilities. The course is a lovely off-road, traffic-free route around Dinton Pastures Country Park. 7pm to 8.30pm.
11th August: Barn dance, The Flavell, Sindlesham Court, Sindlesham. 7.30pm. Tickets £26. Dance the night away to Saxon Drain and enjoy a cheese ploughman’s supper. Doors and bar open from 7pm, dancing starts at 7.30pm Don’t forget your raffle money! Help us raise some money for Prostate Cancer UK.
12th August: Garden rock festival, The White Horse pub, Easthampstead Road, Wokingham. Bootleg BeeGees – A fantastic nostalgic visual and sound experience. Headline support acts: Nicole Allen – A fans favourite at their music festivals. Phil & Alan – A fine performance of smooth acoustic blues. 5.30pm.
12th and 13th August: Welly’s Summer Fun Weekend, Wellington Country Park, Odiham Road, Riseley, Reading, Berkshire, RG7 1SP. Summer Fun Weekend! Catch the hilarious shows and bubble fun with favourite comedy duo, PeteZa and Big Foot on the Main Green at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. (Saturday only). The UK African Acrobatic team are back at the park with more impressive routines at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on the Main Green. (Sunday only). Challenge your family to a juggling competition and test your skills with hula hoops and much more on the Main Green for Circus Skills from 10.30am to 4pm. Bouncy Castles are back at the park with the 18ft jungle obstacle course – how quickly can you complete it? Not only that, they also have two giant bouncy castles from 10.30am to 4pm for you to enjoy. Don’t forget this event is included with your general entry ticket or annual pass.

17th , 18th and 19th August: Welly’s big Dino Takeover – Wellington Country Park, Odiham Road, Riseley, Reading, Berkshire, RG7 1SP. Take a walk on the wild side for another exciting year and journey to a time when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Come face to face with a dinosaur, from the fierce T-Rex to the agile Raptor there are plenty of opportunities throughout the day to witness these fantastic beasts. 18th to 20th August: Rewind Festival –Temple Island Meadows, Remenham Lane, Remenham, Henley-on-Thames. The biggest 80’s music festival in the world returns to Henley. It is a spectacular event, packed full of fun, laughter, great (and terrible!) costumes and friends. Back comb your hair, get the make up on, dig out the oversized jackets and legwarmers and Erasure’s Andy Bell (Saturday) and Squeeze (Sunday) headlining. Other acts include Nick Heywood, ABC, The Undertones, Tony Hadley, the Art of Noise and Heaven 17.

20th August: Pinewood (Wokingham) Miniature Railway has been running trains for over 30 years, delighting children of all ages. Located at Pinewood Leisure Centre, between Wokingham and Crowthorne in Berkshire, the railway runs for nearly half a mile through a woodland setting. The miniature train rides run on ‘he third Sunday of the month, from March to October – running trains from 1.30pm to 4pm. Rides cost £1.50 each or save money with a £5 ‘multiride’ ticket, which gives four rides. Children under three travel free.
