Sunday 23rd April, 9.30am – A major power outage has affected the North Block of the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading as well as the Accident and Emergency Department. The A&E department is currently closed and people are being advised to use the NHS 111 phone number, the local pharmacy or go to the walk-in centre in Broad Street in Reading.
A hospital spokesperson told My Wokingham (0915) Sunday morning that the battle block and the A&E departments were closed due to flooding, leading to a major power outage. Currently, ambulances are being directed to Wexham Park Slough. Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service have also attended the hospital.
