The Ukraine community from Reading and Wokingham joined together in solidarity today Saturday (25th Feb 2023) joined by Reading’s Mayor Cllr Rachel Eden, Labour MP for Woodley and Reading East Matt Rodda along with leaders from the Ukraine Community. They marched joined by supporters in their hundreds through Reading town centre.
You could see a sea of Blue and Yellow flags of Ukraine as around six hundred people joined the march to Forbury Gardens. The Reading Mayor said she hoped the war in Ukraine will come to a stop very soon. She said that Ukrainians could then return home to their homeland remembering the people of
Readings Matt Rodda said you are all very welcome to Reading and Wokingham, I speak for every Government body by saying that we have made some new friends and we are here to help you all. We are all in this together to help you all in your time of need.
The Chairman from Readings Ukraine Community said thanks to the King and the Government for taking us all in and for the very much-needed aid, you all have given so kindly to help our troops and people back home
