The annual Swallowfield Spring Flower Show took place at the village hall on Saturday with spring flowers in bloom. Congratulations to the first in-show winner Sandie Cleaver who presented to the judges a brightly coloured display.
Swallowfield Horticultural Society (Floral Art Section)
Swallowfield Horticultural Society (Floral Art Section) was formed in 1996. The club meets for flower arranging classes on the first Thursday of the month in the spring and autumn at 7.30pm at the Davies Room, Swallowfield Parish Hall, Swallowfield Street, Reading, RG7 1QW. The club welcomes visitors, novices and advanced flower arrangers to an enjoyable evening and workshop of flower arranging in preparation for entering one of the four shows a year.
They are a small club with an annual membership fee of £5, and a fee of £7 for each practical session. Visitors are always welcome.
The club stages a well-supported Floral Art Competition at the Swallowfield Horticultural Society Shows in spring, summer and autumn. as listed below. There is also a two-day show on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
