A major fire in Reading during the night ripped through many homes on Friday 29th July 2022, as fire crews from across Berkshire battled the flames to prevent other homes from burning down. A Loud bang rocked many houses then a large fire took place across several homes.

People living on Red Cottage Drive in Calcot were evacuated shortly after the fire broke out and the alarm was raised during the early hours of Friday morning. Residents spoke of a small fire taking place the day before.
Emergency services set up a triage centre n the early hours of Friday morning. Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to whats is being described as a ‘largescale residential fire’ on Red Cottage Drive, Calcot.
