We speak to Gill McKernan, who is a work-related learning coordinator and fundraiser at Barnardo’s High Close School in Wokingham. Gill has been part of the school for 34 years. Her role in the Reading Great Toy Run was to ensure all the Christmas Gifts given by the biking community are distributed to all the Barnardo’s projects and to local charities. The Toys will go to children who would otherwise not receive Christmas presents.

Estimates of over 1300 bikers this year helped deliver a huge amount of Christmas presents for disadvantaged children. Bikers were escorted by Thames Valley Police and made a huge roar going past all for a great cause!
